Happy New Year friends! 🎉
The community hit the ground running this year! Many of you worked through
the holidays on the Summit Program and Scholarship Committee's (thank
you!). Started off the week helping friends in Thailand set up their
Chapter, working with the "CC Pakistan Forum" to align their activities and
strategy to the CC Global Networks' goals and providing some guidance to
friends in CC Bulgaria!
So much going on and if this is any indicator, 2018 will be an awesome year
for the Creative Commons Global Network!
In this update, I'll focus on the upcoming 2018 Summit.
If you haven't submitted your application for sponsorship to attend the
Summit, please do so before the *Sunday, January 7, 2018* deadline. The
online application form can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd8RezoQIiPzMlb5X2FlqxLvr0-D9XQAqvhf5Ecv7lZ83JqnQ/viewform.
Feel free to share this link with others who may be interested in attending.
The Summit Program Committee has opened the Call for Proposals
<https://summit.creativecommons.org/proposals/> with a submission deadline
of *23rd January 2018*. One of the goals for this years summit is to
"*Understand
the CC community and the new CC Network structure*" and this is
complemented by a "*CC Global Network*" track.
I intend to submit a few sessions but rather than lead them on my own, I'd
love to collaborate with some of you to submit sessions for the CC Global
Network Track. If you have any session ideas you'd like to collaborate on,
please let me know. To start, I'd love some help on a "CC Newbie Breakfast"
session.
I'll highlight session ideas here next week after collating what you'll
send me this week. I look forward to receiving your ideas and offers for
collaboration.
Til' next Friday y'all!
Kind Regards,
Simeon Oriko
